WELCOME TO OUR NEW IMPROVED SITE GUIDE - REGULAR ANSWERS FOR THOSE EVERYDAY QUESTIONS...
Our advice? Print this sheet and keep in to hand. If there's something more you need to know - contact us!
The site offers a wide collection of essays, articles and project by both students and practitioners on the core subjects that youth and community workers need to get to grips with. Each of these papers contains a useful list of further reading or 'references'. Each of the essay contributors welcomes further questions, just email us and we'll get them to contact you. You can ask them questions about content, how they went about writing the essay etc.
We are preparing additional materials - such as writing tips, suggestions for how to pace yourself through big projects etc.

We have a unique feature at this site. A student talk board hosts wide ranging topics of discussion, and you can even start your own topics. We also have a newsletter service. If you want to include any questions to all of the readers, let us know and we'll include it in a special issue.
WE HAVE PREPARED A STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO USING THE TALKBOARDS. THIS BOOKLET IS AVAILABLE IN HARD COPY FORMAT AND CAN BE POSTED TO YOU OR SENT BY EMAIL. PLEASE CONTACT US TO REQUEST A COPY.
You have a number of options then! Firstly, most of the essays written for the site contain lots about relating theory to practice. In the subject zones, we have also published a few 'practical ideas' for relating college learning to practice - for instance, if you are on placement. CLICK YOUR THEORY.
Secondly, you can try the comment and analysis section of the site. This is the section where our team focus on commentating on a significant piece of the news that is relevant to youth and community work. CLICK COMMENT.
Our PRACTICE MAGAZINE holds loads of activities and articles about work in the field. You may find something useful there.
