Jason
is a part time lecturer, researcher and PhD student in the faculty of
Health and Community Studies at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Jason first came into contact with youth work in his
early teens and as a result started a campaign for youth provision in his
local area. This resulted in a group of young people managing Gloucester's
first youth-led project. "Abbeydale Youth Project" received
local and national political and media attention.
He continued to volunteer with the
project, before
moving into part time and then full time youth work in Gloucester. In
1999, he moved to Leicester and has worked in a variety of youth and
community settings, most recently in mental health, community adult
education and youth participation. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in
Youth and Community Development at De Montfort University in 2002, and
continues to work there as a part time lecturer. |
